SUMMARY:ACTIVE SHOOTER - HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT | ACTIVE AGGRESSOR PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION:FBI Dallas Citizens Academy Alumni Association is proud to pres
 ent\nACTIVE SHOOTER\nHOSTILE ENVIRONMENT | ACTIVE AGGRESSOR PROGRAM\n\nFe
 bruary 23\, 2017 8:30am - 4:30pm\nEisemann Center 2351 Performance Drive\,
  Richardson\, TX\nDid you know that between 2000 – 2015 the FBI identifi
ed 200 active shooter incidents involving 205 shooters in the U.S.?  Thos
e shooters had 213 handguns and 107 long guns.  Did you know that\, 63% o
f the shooters carried a single firearm and 37% carried multiple firearms?
Did you also know that the shooter did not use every weapon that they c
arried?\nAn interesting note:  In general an active shooter is more likel
y to use a handgun than a long gun to carry out the shooting.  Two except
ions:  Shooters used an equal number of rifles and shotguns in 2002\; mor
e shooters used long guns than handguns in 2013.\nThe Dallas FBI Citizens
Academy Alumni Association is pleased to provide our Active Shooter traini
ng again this year.  Based upon several events we are expanding the progr
am to include Active Shooter/Hostile Environment/Situational Awareness tra
ining.  For instance\, in Boston two brothers used specialized bombs to d
isrupt the annual Boston Marathon (killing three and injuring 264 people)\
, in San Bernardino a husband and wife team killed 14 people and injured 2
2 others. In Dallas a lone gunman killed five police officers and injured
seven others.  Eleven people were injured on the campus of Ohio State Uni
versity when a man used his vehicle and a knife as weapons to attack peopl
e.\nThis year’s course will cover (but is not limited to) Active shooter
trends (managing a violent crime scene)\; Triggers to an active shooter e
vent\; Take the Shot or Not? Legal issues\; Conflict Resolution/Elements o
f your Hostile Environment Plan\; Situational Awareness\; After the shots
 – Emotional Impact\; Social Media and the shooter.  This year’s progr
am will be a detailed\, expanded\, educational experience.  We look forwa
rd to you being part of this great event.\n\nWho should attend:  We live
in a world that is ever changing.  This program is for everyone.  The ma
terial to applies to companies of all sizes\, government agencies\, church
es\, schools and everyone who is interested in learning more about this su
bject.\n\nPlease click on the links below for more information and to reg
