Welcome

The FBI Dallas Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBI Dallas CAAA) is dedicated to supporting the mission of the FBI in its outreach programs within the community and serve alongside them as private sector ambassadors for education and preparedness to ensure a safer America. The FBI Dallas CAAA is a private, nonprofit organization that is separate and apart from the FBI.

For the first time since its inception in 2013 we will be awarding two scholarships this year. They are offered to current high school seniors, college freshman or college sophomores, who are in good academic standing, demonstrate leadership, community service, are of good character, and interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement/criminal justice. Each $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in two installments of $500.

Qualifications

US citizenship, State of Texas resident, High school senior, college freshman or college sophomore (in 2019-2020 school year), 3.0 grade point average or higher, attending or planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college/university in the Fall of 2020, dependents of FBI employees are not eligible to apply.

Award

The recipient will be announced in August 2020. He or she will receive the first installment upon providing documentation of registration from the college/university stated on their application. The second installment will be provided upon registration documentation for the second semester.

Essay Requirement

Essay Topic: State the reasoning behind your major selection; as well as your plans to utilize this degree in your career pursuit.

The essay must be between 250-500 words, typed and double spaced. In judging this category, how well you are able to articulate/focus comments is critical. By submitting this application, the applicant verifies they are the sole author of the essay.

Submission Process

Applications must be received by July 20, 2020. We suggest you complete the essay and gather all of the necessary information before starting the process of completing and submitting your application. You won't have the option of saving your progress and completing/submitting at a later time. You are able to see the entire application without entering or submitting any information.

Agreement

Once submitted all applications become the property of the FBI Dallas CAAA. The applicant and his/her parent or guardian understands and authorizes that the essay, or portions thereof, may be used for promotional or other purposes. Applicant understands the award is to be used for the upcoming semester with the sole purpose of paying college-related tuition or fees. Proof of registration must be received by the FBI Dallas CAAA prior to disbursement of funds. In addition, Applicant certifies that the information provided in the application is true and correct.
