Dallas Police Academy on Red Bird Center Drive
We would like Dallas FBICAAA volunteers to assist with the November 2017 Dallas Junior Police Academy. The class will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017. The all-day class (from 8:00 to 5:00) will be held at the Dallas Police Academy on Red Bird Center Drive. We will have approximately 70 students in the 4th-7th grades attend. More details will follow and the volunteer applications will be available in early October.
The Dallas Junior Police Academy is a day-long training sessions held on a Saturday. During each session, kids are challenged on decision making. They experience numerous hands-on activities such as the obstacle course and physical training to get the feel of what it would be like as a Dallas Police Academy recruit. The participants also get to meet officers from around the police department who are assigned to specialized units such as K-9, SWAT Team, Motorcycle Officers, and Helicopter Unit. In addition, outstanding instructors discuss important topics that today’s kids should know about, like how to combat drugs and gangs. The Dallas FBICAAA supports the Dallas JPA on an annual basis and has purchased the DWI goggles that the students use during the day. You will also be able to participate in the activities and learn more about our Dallas Police Department.
All volunteers must pass a DPD background check. In order to volunteer, please click: Volunteer Forms to complete the necessary paperwork to volunteer. Please send completed paperwork to:
