We are looking for volunteers to assist with the Dallas Junior Police Academy. Please read below and contact them directly if you are interested.
The Dallas Chapter of the FBICAAA will be sponsoring the Doug Woodham Dallas Junior Police Academy class on Saturday, June 4, 2016. In addition, our members will also be volunteering at the class. We expect approximately 80 students in the 4th-7th grades. The students will check in at 8:00 AM and the final graduation will be at 4:45. The class will be held at the Dallas Police Academy, 5310 Red Bird Center Drive, Dallas, TX 75237.
It’s a wonderful, full day with agenda items such as:
Family Violence Awareness (Genesis Women’s Shelter)
Felony Traffic Stop Reenactment by Dallas Police Explorers
Physical Training
Ride with an Officer
Obstacle Course
Drug Discussions
Motorcycle Unit
DWI Goggles
Drug Prevention/Gang Awareness
911/Dispatch
Mounted Patrol
Helicopter
K-9 Unit
SWAT
Scuba Team
Crime Scene Investigations (CSI)
Internet Safety
To volunteer, please complete the three documents listed below (click on the links to download each one) and return them no later than May 25th to Sgt. Cheryl Cornish, Dallas Police Department, Youth Outreach Unit, 1400 South Lamar, Dallas, TX 75215. They can be faxed to 214-6770-8689 or scanned and returned to info@DallasJPA.org.
