Take Back Day – April 24th 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m
As part of the Dallas Chapter’s 2021 Goals and Objectives, we committed to engage our members in taking old medication to the Take Back sites in their areas and to ask you to get the word out to your neighbors and co-workers. Please put the info on your social media. If you were part of the “Hidden in Plain Sight” presentation, you learned how teens are selling and taking others’ medications. We would like to see which class has the most members who participate in Take Back Day. So, take a picture of yourself at your location and send to H.Suzanne where each class will be tallied with the winning class announced the first of May. Below is important information from the DEA website and a quick way to find your collection location:
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019. The survey also showed that a majority of misused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
