G-Man Jackie Sherrill Shootout Charity Event

G-Man Jackie Sherrill Shootout benefitting the FBI Agent’s Association Charities, the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and the 12th Man Kickoff Foundation

Below is a message from retired FBI employee Chrys Hawkins regarding an event on May 1, 2017.

G-Man Jackie Sherrill Shootout benefitting the FBI Agent’s Association Charities, the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and the 12th Man Kickoff Foundation.  With this annual tournament, the Dallas FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) honors the memory of Special Agent David M. Fink, the longtime Firearms Instructor for the Dallas Field Office who passed away after a brief illness in January 2012.

As you would expect, I am most familiar with the FBIAA charities, the College Scholarship and Member Assistance Funds.  The College Scholarship Fund was conceptualized in 1982 after we lost five Special Agents during the course of their law enforcement duties.  The original purpose was to provide interest free college loans to children of Agents who died while on duty but by 1996 the fund was able to offer scholarships instead to those children and spouses.  The untimely death of any co-worker is tragic, but there is a degree of comfort to know that his or her children will not be deprived of their college education as a result.  The Member Assistance Fund is to provide financial assistance to members and their families who have been affected by sudden unforeseen tragedy.   It is not limited to FBIAA members – Task Force Officers and other non-member employees are considered on a case-by-case basis, and this fund has been a source of hope and reassurance to many in the Dallas Division.

The heart of the local fundraising efforts is the 2017 G-Man Jackie Sherrill Shootout to be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Stonebridge Ranch, the Dye Signature Course.  This is the fifth year it has been held and at this point there are a few golf foursome slots left.  There are also still sponsorships available at varying levels (as set forth on the links below), as well as numerous opportunities to donate products for the gift bags, items for the raffle or items for the silent auction.

I will be glad to answer any questions you may have about the tournament.  Please feel free to contact me at 214-232-7261 (mobile) or email chrys.hawkins@gmail.com.

Take care!

Chrys Hawkins
