Last week in Tarrant County, justice was served—and the future is safer for the young survivors we serve every day.
A perpetrator was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of continuous human trafficking and aggravated promotion of prostitution. This trafficker exploited youth forcing them into prostitution, advertising them online, and taking every dollar they earned.
One of these survivors described life under his control:
“It literally feels like you are in prison when you are with a trafficker.”
After the sentencing, another survivor shared a simple but profound relief:
"It’s a relief—just to know that he can’t do what he did to me to anyone else. It’s over."
This outcome was possible because of the outstanding, supportive work of the Arlington Police Department—an active member of the Tarrant County Human Trafficking Task Force that Unbound Now co-founded. Their thorough investigation made this conviction possible. We applaud the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office for diligently working on this case for multiple years to secure a conviction.
As Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Simpson said,
"Human trafficking isn’t just what you see in Hollywood. It’s happening every day here in Tarrant County."
Unbound Now upholds client confidentiality and does not reveal or confirm the names of our clients. That being said, we daily stand beside survivors like these youth—offering hope, safety, and a path to restoration. And thanks to your support, we can keep building a future where freedom is the norm and justice is served.
Thank you for being part of this mission.
For Freedom,
Allison Byrd, J.D.
